UPCYCLE - YEWA NECKLACE
Travel to the designer’s journey through Africa in a collection that offers jewelry that are intentional with dominant metal tone, wooden beads from the motherland, and-made clay beads by the @kobe_tough Maasai women with exceptional traditional beading skills.
The Maasai women, are mostly single mothers, orphans and widows who had been making ceramic beads in Karen Nairobi. They were laid off as tourism plunged as COVID-19 broke out. The Kobe Tough Center afforded these a lifeline by establishing a ceramic beading division to help them create new opportunities for themselves and their families.
